About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client, a leading player in the agriculture industry in the Western Cape, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join their team and lead their procurement activities in the region. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring cost-effective sourcing of agriculture inputs, equipment, and services.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of agriculture inputs, equipment, and services
Manage supplier relationships and conduct negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing
Oversee the procurement process from request to delivery, ensuring timely delivery and quality control
Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvement
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet them
Monitor and report on procurement KPIs to ensure compliance with company policies and best practices
Mentor and develop junior procurement staff to build a high-performing team

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
6 years management experience in a procurement/agri environment
Thorough understanding of the dynamics of Agriculture
Must be willing to travel when necessary and to work long hours during peak times.
Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and negotiations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
