Job Title: Technical Lead, Project Management (Renewable Industry)

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead for the project management team of Hire resolve’s client in the renewable energy industry to their team in Cape Town. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of renewable energy projects according to the detailed plans. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to all specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project team members.
• Coordinating and overseeing internal resources in Procurement, Engineering, and related support functions, while allocating specific responsibilities for project implementation.
• Offering ongoing contributions to enhance and streamline procedures for optimisation.
• Developing and implementing a procurement strategy in consultation with the bid team and technical steering committee. Aim for an optimal balance across risk, cost, quality, safety, economic development, and schedule, while maximising opportunities for IRR improvement in implementation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Monitoring and controlling project budget – exploiting opportunities to reduce expenditure.
• Final validation of all key technical and construction documents and decisions related to the Project before handover to implementation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Registered or in the process of registering as a Project Management Professional with PMI
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with the ECSA
• A degree or advanced qualification in Project Management
• Experience in the renewable energy field: wind, solar and storage
