Job Summary
Our client, a small, high performing team is looking for the right technician to uphold their standard of service. Only candidates who have had exposure of working successfully on BOTH iOS and Mac devices will be considered for the position.
Proficiencies in the following:
Devices:
- iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, iMacs, Apple watches (repair of Samsung / Huawei phones is a bonus but not required)
- Able to perform all repairs to the above devices, except board level repairs (ie micro-soldiering, although it would be bonus).
Repairs include:
- Fault diagnosis & troubleshooting
- Damage reports, screen / battery replacements
- Camera, speaker, earpiece, charging port replacement
- MacBooks and iMacs: RAM & hard drive upgrades, battery, screen, ports & power supply replacements.
- Ability to completely strip and re-assemble devices.
Other skills required:
- Parts inventory management: manage stock levels of fast-moving parts, return of faulty parts, etc.
- Good communication skills with Store Manager & Sales Consultants on new and pending jobs.
- Good communication skills with customers (keep them updated on their jobs and explain faults & repairs, etc.
- Good written and telephone communication skills
- Able and willing to learn further skills.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Presentable, punctual, high level of self-discipline, good manners.
Please note the hours of work are retail hours so shift work will apply. Salary R10 000 – R12 000 and will be based on experience.
