Job Purpose Summary The IT Support Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving all IT issues – whether hardware or software-related – and providing feedback within the agreed upon times to the IT Manager, as well as both internal and external stakeholders alike. Primary duties and responsibilities (but not limited to) Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support issues Install and configure software, hardware as well as PCs and laptops Maintenance: Ensure systems are backed up Document all tasks and duties Remote management and support Manage Stakeholder relationships i.e. Suppliers and ISPs Provide first line support with Frequently Asked Questions Maintain website, updating product details and Industry news. Develop and maintain the management Reporting application Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification essential Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role Good understanding of MS Server software and management thereof. Excellent understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Skilled required Understanding of Server software, its implementation and maintenance Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server Creating of Users/Roles in a Domain environment Understanding of TCP/IP Strong Problem solving & Analytical skills Technical understanding of IT infrastructures Good knowledge of PC’s/Printers and fault finding Communication skills (Verbal and Written) Advantageous Skills IT related degree/diploma. Minimum requirements: Matric Certificate is essential IT related degree or diploma would be an advantage At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar IT support or technical role Solid understanding of Microsoft Server software and its day-to-day management Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint Proficient in server setup, maintenance, and administration Practical knowledge of Active Directory, including user and role creation in a domain environment Good understanding of TCP/IP networking principles Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Sound technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and peripherals Strong troubleshooting skills for PCs and printers Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills Own vehicle and valid drivers license Consultant: Runisha Boucher – Dante Personnel Midrand
