Job Description

This established organisation operates within a resource, mining and commodities-related sector, characterised by operational complexity, regulatory compliance, and production-focused performance drivers. Finance plays a critical role in operational sustainability, profitability, and strategic planning.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, commercial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting while partnering with operational and executive leadership to drive performance, cost optimisation, and strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis
Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control within a production/operational environment
Cash flow management, financial modelling, and performance reporting
Costing, margin analysis, and operational profitability tracking
Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
Support audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements
Commercial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making
Process improvement, automation, and system optimisation initiatives

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting / Finance (or equivalent qualification)
CIMA / Articles (advantageous)
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a Management Accountant / Commercial Accountant role
Experience within mining
Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling, dashboards, reporting automation)
Experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
High attention to detail with strong analytical ability
Strong commercial and operational finance mindset
Ability to perform in deadline-driven, high-accountability environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
