As a Business Development Consultant, you will be the face of Salix Recruitment, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with decision-makers, and driving revenue growth.
This is a high-performance sales role where you will research markets, approach prospective clients, and position Salix Recruitment as the partner of choice for talent solutions.
You will need to be analytical, persuasive, and solution-driven, able to confidently engage with HR leaders, finance / IT executives, and business owners while understanding their hiring challenges and presenting tailored recruitment solutions.
Success in this role requires someone who is commercially aware, intellectually sharp, resilient, and able to think strategically about how to unlock opportunities.

Duties:
- Drive new business acquisition by identifying, targeting, and engaging prospective clients across key industries.
- Generate leads through proactive outreach, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and strategic prospecting.
- Secure meetings with senior decision-makers (HR leaders, finance / IT executives, and business owners) to introduce Salix Recruitment’s services.
- Understand client hiring challenges and present tailored recruitment solutions that align with their business goals.
- Convert opportunities into signed client agreements and build a sustainable pipeline of new business.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Stay ahead of market trends by monitoring hiring patterns, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Position Salix Recruitment as a trusted talent partner through professional engagement, insight-driven conversations, and brand representation.
- Negotiate recruitment agreements and service terms to secure mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Track and manage all sales activity within the CRM, ensuring accurate reporting on pipeline, targets, and conversion performance.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, HR, or related field
Experience:
- 2–4 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, Recruitment, or similar client-facing roles
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets
- Strong understanding of B2B sales environments
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle (Gauteng travel required)
