Job Summary

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a talented Senior Java Developer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Java applications that meet the needs of our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and extensive experience with Java frameworks. You will work collaboratively with agile teams to deliver exceptional software solutions while mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecting, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications
  • Participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Conducting code reviews and maintaining code quality
  • Collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to clarify requirements
  • Optimizing application performance and ensuring security compliance
  • Mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance
  • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Java development
  • Strong proficiency with Java EE and related technologies
  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and Microservices
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
  • Knowledge of database design and SQL
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems (Git)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Job Summary

An industry-leading client is looking for Java Developer to join their team of professionals in Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business analysts to analyse and understand the business requirements and business case, in order to produce simple, cost-effective and innovative solution designs
  • Implement the designed solutions in the required development language (typically Java) in accordance with the Group standards, processes, tools, and frameworks
  • Testing the quality of produced software thoroughly through participation in code reviews, the use of static code analysis tools, creation and execution of unit tests, functional regression tests, load tests, and stress tests and evaluating the results of performance metrics collected on the software
  • Participate in feasibility studies, proof of concepts, JAD sessions, estimation and costing sessions, evaluate and review programming methods, tools, and standards, etc.
  • Maintain the system in production and provide support in the form of query resolution and defect fixes
  • Prepare the necessary technical documentation including payload definitions, class diagrams, activity diagrams, ERDs, operational and support documentation, etc.
  • Driving the skills development of team members, coaching of team members for performance and coaching on career development, recruitment, staff training, performance management, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a software, technical or related field from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 6 years experience as a Java Developer or similar role 
  • Extensive experience working with Java
  • Solid understanding of Object Orientated programming fundamentals
  • Needs to have a high-level understanding of the common frameworks in the Java technology stack
  • Extensive knowledge of design patterns and the ability to recognize and apply them
  • Spring

  • SOA
  • Microservices
  • Docker
  • Data Modelling
  • UML
  • SQL
  • SoapUI (SOAP) / REST client (JSON)

Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of complex server-side Java applications. The successful candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of Java frameworks, and the ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and implement scalable and high-performance Java applications using best practices and design patterns.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and software architects, to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
3. Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, providing guidance and support throughout the development process.
4. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and performance optimization.
5. Identify and resolve application defects and performance issues, troubleshooting production problems as needed.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Java development and related technologies.
7. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to testing and deployment.
8. Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing coverage and assist in the identification and resolution of bugs.
9. Document technical specifications, system architecture, and support procedures for the developed applications.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java development, with a focus on server-side applications.
3. Strong proficiency in Java and Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
4. Expertise in the development and integration of RESTful web services and APIs.
5. In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and design patterns.
6. Experience in designing and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
7. Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
8. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices.
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
12. Proven ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
