Job Description
About the Role
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, taxation, and audit coordination for The Talent Room. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees a finance team that includes the Financial Accountant, Commercial Accountant, and Debtors and Creditors Clerks.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconciliation of control accounts
- Management of VAT submissions
- Oversight of Debtors and Creditors functions
- Compile and analyse financial information for monthly and annual financial statements
- Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with accepted accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Ongoing management and support of budgets and forecasting activities
- Liaise with SARS and manage taxation matters
- Monitor and support tax compliance
- Prepare for financial audits and coordinate the audit process
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Supervise and lead the finance team
Requirements
- B.Com Accounting or similar qualification
- Completed articles
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
- Financial systems and budget management
- Financial reporting
- Financial data analysis
- Auditing
- Taxation
- Providing financial advice at senior level
- Proven track record in a senior finance role
- Knowledge of Navision (advantageous but not essential)
- Strong people management skills
