Job Description

Hire Resolves client is looking for an experienced BI Developer to join their team in Durban, KZN to design, implement, and maintain business intelligence solutions that drive insights and inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data integration, reporting, and analytics, with expertise in BI tools and technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development: Create and maintain data models, ETL processes, and BI reports that align with business objectives.
Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that support business decisions.
Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of BI systems, ensuring smooth data processing and reporting.
Automation: Automate the generation and distribution of reports to ensure stakeholders have real-time access to data.
Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance standards and ensure data quality, security, and integrity.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree a plus).
2-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or in a similar data-focused role.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools like SSIS, Talend, or Informatica.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Data Warehousing: Knowledge of data modeling and design, including star and snowflake schemas.
Programming: Basic scripting experience (Python) for data processing and automation is a plus.
