About the Role

An established property development & investment group is seeking a high-caliber Head of Finance to play a critical leadership role within the finance function. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and executive team to support strategic decision-making and ensure the financial integrity of the group.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the full finance function across the group, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS
Manage complex group accounting structures, consolidations, and inter-company transactions
Provide strong technical accounting leadership, including the implementation and interpretation of accounting standards
Lead audit processes and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and advisors
Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
Support the CFO with strategic financial analysis, board reporting, and key business initiatives
Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team
Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls

Requirements

Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) preferred
Minimum of 10 years post-articles experience, preferably within the property sector or a related industry
Proven experience dealing with complex group structures and consolidations
Strong technical accounting and IFRS expertise
Experience in a property investment or asset-intensive environment will be highly advantageous

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification preferred.
