Job Description
Hire Resolves client in the Package Manufacturing industry is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Health and Safety portfolio in the Engineering space.
- Develop and review H&S rules/ policies/ procedures.
- Facilitate H&S quarterly meetings.
- Conduct H&S audits.
- Arrange annual medicals for all employees.
- Initiate evacuation drills.
- Ensure H&S files/ reports are up to date.
- Involvement in engineering projects and continuous improvement engineering.
- Research and propose sustainability initiatives.
- Propose and implement engineering projects that drive sustainability.
- Monitor for any possible system deficiencies or areas of difficulty.
- There is a lot of admin in this role, so the candidate must not mind this.
- This would be a good role for a young engineer who aspires to be in an engineering/ operations manager, where H&S will be useful
Requirements
- Minimum of BTech or BSc Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years work experience (we are wanting a junior, graduate level type person- not with too much experience- ideally younger than 27 years old)
