About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Procurement Officer to join our team in Durban, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement function and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate the purchase of materials that meet specifications, ensuring timely delivery at the best possible prices
  • Source and engage qualified suppliers, completing all NDAs and supplier evaluation processes
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for new projects to minimise risk and reduce costs
  • Continuously monitor outstanding purchase orders and ensure timely deliveries as per call-off orders
  • Update and modify purchase orders based on changing requirements
  • Maintain an up-to-date approved supplier list and negotiate pricing agreements
  • Monitor supplier and product performance to ensure ongoing quality and reliability
  • Prepare and present monthly cost update meetings, including supplier price increases, cost savings, and procurement performance
  • Address RFCs with suppliers, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Report any significant supply issues that may impact production or operations
  • Obtain credit notes for PPVs in line with negotiated pricing and terms
  • Assist with monthly stock take processes and variance resolution
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management
