About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Key Account Manager to join our team in Durban, where you will be responsible for driving sales growth and strategic account objectives within our public sector portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets and strategic account objectives within the public sector portfolio
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Identify and generate new business opportunities within assigned accounts
- Represent the full range of products and services to customers
- Lead account planning cycles and ensure customer needs and expectations are met
- Negotiate pricing within set guidelines to maximize profitability
- Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews with clients to analyze performance and identify growth opportunities
- Ensure retention of customers and manage risk exposure
- Prepare accurate reports on pipeline, growth opportunities, and account activity
- Manage proposal presentations and RFP responses
- Ensure compliance with administrative tasks and SLA agreements
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Key Account Management, preferably within the public sector
- Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strategic relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver on growth and revenue targets
- Solid understanding of account planning and customer profitability
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
