About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Millwright (PLC) to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes and maintaining high-quality products. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in planning, organizing, controlling, and achieving maximum production output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and motivate the workforce to achieve the best utilisation and efficiency of the plant and materials.
  • Ensure proper raw material control and monitoring to achieve the most economical usage throughout the production process.
  • Preventative maintenance is done on machines to avoid loss of time.
  • Effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance on all sections and divisions.
  • Maintain all electrical/electronic equipment to the highest working and safety standards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the curing equipment.
  • Ensure the minimum downtime as a result of electrical breakdowns.
  • Fault finding on PLC systems (Siemens & Allen Bradley).
  • Monitor machine settings to avoid raw material losses.
  • Provide accurate daily production statistics.
  • Maintain the planned maintenance system.
  • Accurately record and report daily labour hours, adhering to Department of Manpower requirements.
  • Ensure all requirements of the OHS Act are conformed to.

Requirements

  • Trade Test – Millwright
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a Manufacturing Industry (Production environment)
  • Competent to work on both HT and LT electrical systems
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels
  • Interface professionally with all levels of employees
  • Computer Literate in MS Office
