About the Role
SA Steelworks is seeking a committed and hardworking Production Supervisor to join their team at Airport Industria branch, Cape Town. The successful candidate will provide support to the Production Department and be responsible for managing various aspects of the meltshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of floor operational procedures
- Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines
- Manage risk by identifying potential failures and offering solutions to remedy risk
- Team supervision to ensure smooth operation of the shift
- Manage floor consumables and spares to ensure that production runs smoothly
- Investigate incidents and communicate findings and possible solutions timeously
- Complete incident reports and submit such to the Line Manager or his delegate
- Implementation and monitoring of Occupation Health and Safety compliance
- Manage and enforce housekeeping standards
Requirements
- Matric (Maths compulsory)
- Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to detect machine discrepancies
- Excellent Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production or mechanical environment;
- Self-motivated, self-driven individual able to perform well with minimum supervision;
- Ability to work shifts
- Ability to work under challenging conditions
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety Rules
- In good health, physically fit
- Own transport
