About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Durban. As a key member of our construction services division, you will be responsible for providing cost management expertise to clients across various industries. If you have a strong background in quantity surveying and excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for private sector developments
  • Develop and manage pre-contract cost plans using WinQS and DimX
  • Compile Bills of Quantities and other tender documentation
  • Manage post-contract activities including valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and cash flow forecasts
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment on cost and program
  • Maintain SACQSP registration and actively pursue professional registration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification recognized by SACQSP
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a consulting Quantity Surveying office
  • At least 3 years of experience must be on private sector projects (e.g., commercial offices, retail centres, hotels, apartment blocks, industrial developments)
  • Registered with SACQSP and actively pursuing professional registration (PrQS)
  • Proficient in WinQS and DimX software
  • Strong understanding of cost management principles and construction contracts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification recognized by SACQSP
