Job Description

Hire Resolves client in the engineering industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Resident Engineer Structures in Durban, KZN.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the execution of a SANRAL National Road project, guaranteeing adherence to design requirements, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
  • Perform routine on-site evaluations, conduct quality control audits, track project advancement, and proactively address potential issues or setbacks.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Offer expert technical advice and facilitate problem resolution for the project team.
  • Analyse and decipher engineering plans, designs, and specifications to ensure precise construction.
  • Facilitate effective communication with all involved parties, including engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Generate and distribute progress summaries, quality assurance records, and site documentation.

Requirements:

  • ECSA registration (PrEng or PrTech) required; PrCPM (SACPCMP) preferred.
  • 10+ years bridge/drainage construction management experience.
  • SANRAL/municipal road project experience a strong advantage.
  • Expertise in bridge design, construction, regulations (COLTO/COTO).
  • Proficient in project management software and MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent English communication skills.
