About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team in Durban, specializing in high-end home products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of customer needs. This role offers great potential for growth and development, with opportunities to work with top designers and inspire spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet sales objectives and support international managers in achieving and exceeding sales budgets
- Visit high-profile customers
- Develop new business and identify sales
- Manage costs against the approved budget
- Maintain good communications with customers, employees, and International fabric brands
- Address issues and queries promptly and courteously
- Provide regular feedback on queries and delivery dates
- Manage backorder lists
- Operate problem-solving skills to facilitate operational issues as required
- Manage complaints and flag them as necessary
- Meet customer expectations
- Collect feedback on special orders and inform the manager
- Set budgets in collaboration with international managers
- Ensure expenditure aligns with approved budget
- Submit weekly reports (sales, market, and competitor activity)
- Implement cost control measures and adhere to them
- Deliver excellent customer service throughout all interactions
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or Diploma in a related field (advantageous)
- 3-5 years of sales experience in luxury goods or interior decor environment (preferred)
- Exposure to textiles/fabric sales environment is an advantage
- Skills in Sales, New business development, Customer service, Product Knowledge, Negotiating skills, Presentation Skills, Market Research, Campaign Implementation, Branding, Public Relations & Publicity, and Report Writing
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s License and reliable own vehicle (required)
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R38 000 to R42 000 per annum, with additional communications and benefits (depending on experience).
