Job Description
Hire Resolve is currently working with a leading construction company in Gauteng and they are seeking an Intermediate Civil Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects and ensuring cost control measures are implemented effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit bids and tenders for construction projects
- Manage and control project costs, including monitoring and reporting on budgetary allocations
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates
- Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials
- Assess and analyze variations and claims
- Prepare and submit progress claims, valuations, and final accounts
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to cost management
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective cost control
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on civil projects
- Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure principles, practices, and construction methodologies
- Experience working on both GCC and FIDIC contracts would be advantageous
- Experience in cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and bill of quantities preparation
- Proficient in relevant quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
