About the Role

The Inventory Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, analyzing inventory levels, forecasting demand, and implementing efficient inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions
  • Analyze inventory levels and trends to forecast demand and plan stock replenishment
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of inventory and maintain good relationships
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates and set inventory levels to optimize stock levels
  • Implement cost-saving measures and minimize excess stock holding
  • Identify and resolve inventory issues such as overstock, stockouts, and obsolete inventory
  • Train and supervise inventory control staff to ensure compliance with inventory management policies
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize inventory management processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in inventory management or related field
  • Proficient in inventory management software and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

About the Role

A leading logistics company situated in Gauteng is urgently seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of inventory, costs, and stock replenishment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure costs are captured in the month incurred (Labour, MHE R&M, Stock Losses)
  • Ensure unprocessed costs are accrued in the month incurred
  • Ensure monthly inventory department expenditure is maintained within budget
  • Explain the variance of budget versus actual
  • Ensure cost overruns are investigated and appropriate countermeasures are instituted to prevent further overruns
  • Compile input for all inventory expenditures to be used in the annual budget for the distribution centre
  • Ensure that stock replenishment is completed before the commencement of picking
  • Ensure the stock is replenished into the correct locations as per WMS
  • Ensure replenishment is in line with stock rotation principles of the business
  • People Management

Requirements

  • 7 – 10 Years experience required in Inventory within a Warehousing Distribution Industry, QSR and FMCG environment
  • 10 Years of Warehousing/Distribution
  • 5 Years of Stock Management Experience
  • 5 Years of People Management Experience
  • Grade 12 is compulsory with a Relevant Tertiary Degree, /Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Good Warehousing & Distribution, Transport, FMCG, and QRS Management
