About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Surge Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our construction department, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for road construction projects. Your expertise will also involve monitoring project costs, tracking variations, and managing cost control throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for road construction projects.
- Monitor project costs, track variations, and manage cost control throughout the construction phase.
- Administer contracts, including reviewing, preparing, and negotiating subcontractor agreements and variations.
- Evaluate claims and variations submitted by contractors and recommend actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure budget adherence and accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate financial exposure.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost reports.
- Advise on contractual and procurement matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Mentor junior QS staff and provide guidance on technical and contractual matters.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders regarding project financials and contractual issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
