About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Staff Solutions, you will be responsible for providing innovative engineering solutions to clients in the automotive industry. You will work closely with other engineers to develop and implement mechanical design concepts that meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding technical requirements of clients in the automotive industry
- Creating of innovative engineering concept solutions to meet client needs
- Working with other engineers to perform feasibility studies, develop models, and specify hardware and equipment
- Working with other engineers to improve on existing processes and mechanical designs
- Determining and costing of mechanical hardware and labour required for potential projects
- Becoming familiar with client specific mechanical design standards and practices
- Preparation and formatting of tender documentation
- Obtaining supplier quotes
- Adhoc tasks
Requirements
- Qualification in mechanical engineering or related
- Eagerness to enhance and grow understanding of engineering principles and systems
- Additional studies welcomed in the direction suited to this position
- Experience with 3D engineering CAD software advantageous
- Experience in project costing advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Very good verbal and written communication
- Pro-active work ethic
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience in the automotive automation advantageous
