Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

  • BSc Horticulture or BSc Agriculture (Plant Production or related field)
  • National Diploma: Horticulture or equivalent NQF Level 6 or higher
  • Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering (Agriculture), Operations Management or Production Planning
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management, Project Management or Production Planning and Control
  • Minimum 2–3 years in a production planning, operations coordination, or horticulture management role
  • Prior experience in wholesale horticulture or large-scale agriculture is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multi-species crop schedules in a commercial growing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel — scheduling models, production dashboards, cost tracking
  • Exposure to ERP or production management software (Pastel)
  • Sound understanding of plant propagation biology and commercial growing principles — essential.
  • Structured, analytical thinker who is comfortable working with production data and numbers.
  • Strong organiser capable of managing multiple crop lines and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Initiative-taking and accountable — can work independently and as part of a broader team.
  • Hands-on mindset — comfortable in an outdoor agricultural production environment
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality outcomes.
