About the Role
The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare (UFH) is seeking a highly accomplished academic to join our Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences Department as a Senior Lecturer in Speech Language Pathology. The appointment will be made at the level of Senior Lecturer, with a focus on contributing to the Faculty’s academic department teaching and learning, and research objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and oversee clinical education placements and student supervision
- Maintain and develop clinical partnerships with placement sites and community stakeholders
- Contribute to departmental research outputs and supervise postgraduate students
- Participate in curriculum review, moderation, and assessment development
- Engage with Faculty and University committee structures as required
- Support internationalization and community engagement initiatives of the Department
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related field
- Professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in the category of Speech Therapist/Speech Therapist & Audiologist
- At least 3 years experience in higher education
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience
- Experience in clinical education coordination or clinical supervision of SLP students
