About the Role
The Ekurhuleni: Inventory Cost Controller will play a crucial role in optimizing stock levels, reducing inventory costs, and ensuring high integrity of inventory data within our ERP system. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team and leverage their expertise in cost accounting, finance, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize stock levels to prevent overstocking or understocking.
- Analyze and reduce inventory costs; perform cost variance analysis and report deviations.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Track stock movement, monitor efficiencies, and generate inventory reports using an ERP system.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage regular physical stock counts; reconcile with the general ledger.
- Produce inventory aging reports and manage expiry dates on raw materials.
- Manage and verify stock input, assemblies, and wastage reconciliations.
- Maintain and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accurate product costing.
- Collaborate with production and purchasing to optimize stock levels, minimize excess/obsolete inventory, and manage waste.
- Ensure high integrity of inventory data within the ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with accounting, internal policies, and ISO standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis and modeling).
- Strong experience with ERP systems.
- Understanding of ISO standards.
