About the Role

The Ekurhuleni: Inventory Cost Controller will play a crucial role in optimizing stock levels, reducing inventory costs, and ensuring high integrity of inventory data within our ERP system. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team and leverage their expertise in cost accounting, finance, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Optimize stock levels to prevent overstocking or understocking.
Analyze and reduce inventory costs; perform cost variance analysis and report deviations.
Investigate and resolve stock variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Track stock movement, monitor efficiencies, and generate inventory reports using an ERP system.
Plan, coordinate, and manage regular physical stock counts; reconcile with the general ledger.
Produce inventory aging reports and manage expiry dates on raw materials.
Manage and verify stock input, assemblies, and wastage reconciliations.
Maintain and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accurate product costing.
Collaborate with production and purchasing to optimize stock levels, minimize excess/obsolete inventory, and manage waste.
Ensure high integrity of inventory data within the ERP system.
Ensure compliance with accounting, internal policies, and ISO standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
35 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis and modeling).
Strong experience with ERP systems.
Understanding of ISO standards.
