Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all open cast mining operations to achieve production and safety targets.
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, environmental standards, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor mine plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Manage and coordinate the workforce, including contractors, to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee maintenance of mining equipment, ensuring maximum availability and efficiency.
- Monitor production data, costs, and performance, and report on progress to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost control.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and local communities.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Open Cast).
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in open cast mining, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong knowledge of mining legislation, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Proven track record in achieving production and cost targets in large-scale mining operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
