About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies Scott Street is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pharmacist Assistant Basic Qualified. This role will equip learners to understand the underlying principles of the pharmaceutical environment, promoting quality lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances
- Compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and Standard Operating Procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
- Manufacturing of non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and Standard Operating Procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
- Re-packaging of medicine
- Distribution and control of stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances
- Providing information to individuals to promote health
- Accurately interpreting scripts and acting in a professional and responsible manner within legal requirements
- Capturing patient details accurately and verifying on the system
- Ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication
- Being aware of common dosages and important drug interactions
- Giving accurate instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine supplied
- Keeping abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensing
- Assisting with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Life Science and/or Physical Science with an average of at least 50%
- Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification
