Job Summary

Area : Franchoek, Cape Town Our client is looking a Junior Sous Chef to join their organization. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. You will assist in managing kitchen staff, ensuring the quality and consistency of dishes, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Requirements:

1-2 years experience in a Commis / CDP position in a formal Hotel. Strong personality that can think on their feet and work under pressure. Well-spoken and well-presented individual Strong leader who have overseen employees before. Must have grade 12. Formal cooking degree/diploma preferable. Experience in running functions. Must be able to work under pressure Must be able to create, cost and maintain recipes. Must have strong general knowledge of food and kitchen procedures The successful candidate would be required to assist with the management of the kitchen together with the executive chef. The candidate will also be required to maintain and implement hygiene standards and assist with stock takes.
