Job Description
- Manage internal and external driver training programmes.
- Manage all administrative functions related to driver training.
- Plan and execute training schedules at various depots.
- Ensure all drivers are fully competent prior to entering the field.
- Develop electronic training material and videos.
- Manage and development of driver performance.
- Reporting on training and assessments conducted.
- Conduct site and route assessments.
- Create PowerPoint presentations for drivers.
- Travel with drivers for on route assessments / training.
- Travel to different depots outside of your region for training purposes.
- Manage the electronic Driver Management platform to identify training needs.
- Allocate LMS training based on individual training needs identified.
- Attend and conduct Toolbox Talks with drivers.
- Action driver coaching and corrective action.
- Manage all driver training and development (self-driver and carrier work).
Qualification / Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Computer literacy.
- Previous training experience is highly advantageous.
- Medically fit.
- Ability to work with technology – Driver assessments done via electronic platform.
- Valid Code EC license with PrDP.
- Experience in the transport industry is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written.
- Sound general mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers.
- Must have own transport.
- Assessor Certificate.
- Moderator Certificate.
- Facilitator Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years’ long distance Heavy Commercial Vehicle driving experience.
- Extensive geographical knowledge.
