• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL processes to extract data from multiple sources and integrate it into data warehouses or analytics platforms.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security throughout the ETL lifecycle.
• Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise ETL workflows for performance and reliability.
• Implement data quality checks and address discrepancies to maintain high data integrity.
• Document ETL processes, workflows, and configurations for future reference and scalability.
• Stay updated with emerging ETL tools and technologies to recommend and implement improvements.

 
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• An Honour’s degree in Data Management, Analytics, or Business Administration is advantageous.
• Certifications in relevant ETL tools or data engineering (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer) are advantageous.

 
Experience:

• 3 – 5 years of experience in ETL development, data integration, or data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with building and maintaining large-scale ETL workflows.
• Proven track record in optimising ETL processes and troubleshooting issues in data pipelines.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements is a plus.

 
Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, or SSIS.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and design principles.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data integration.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
