Minimum Qualifications

• Matric
• Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (advantageous)

Experience and Skills

• 3+ years’ experience in a production environment
• Proven leadership and ability to manage a technical/workshop team
• Electrical and hydraulic knowledge
• ERP system experience (JD Edwards preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual maintenance plan
• Collect and analyse service data to plan major maintenance and part replacements
• Set maintenance standards and measure technician performance
• Develop and maintain a skills matrix for all technicians
• Ensure equipment standards and technician understanding of maintenance systems
• Manage material supply chain to ensure quality and cost efficiency
• Define minimum stock levels and re-order points
• Ensure machine drawings are available for technicians and supply chain
• Track planned vs. actual hours on maintenance jobs
• Gather and act on customer feedback
