About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechatronic Engineer to design, develop, and support integrated mechanical, electrical, and control systems used in mining equipment and automation platforms. The successful candidate will work on ruggedized systems deployed in harsh mining environments and contribute to improving equipment reliability, productivity, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and integrate electro-mechanical systems for mining machinery
- Develop control systems for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical equipment
- Support automation projects (drill rigs, conveyor systems, autonomous vehicles, etc.)
- Develop and commission PLC-based control systems
- Interface with sensors, actuators, drives, and embedded controllers
- Conduct fault finding, root cause analysis, and system optimization
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams
- Provide site support and commissioning when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering (or Electrical/Mechanical with strong mechatronics focus)
- 3+ years’ experience in heavy industry, mining, or industrial automation
- Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
- Experience with hydraulic and drive systems
- Understanding of control theory and system integration
- Ability to work in demanding industrial environments
