Job Description
About the Role
You will oversee quality control processes across manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and internal SOPs. This is a hands-on, laboratory and process-driven position that requires strong technical expertise, audit readiness, and the ability to guide production teams on quality adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical and laboratory testing on incoming raw materials and bulk products
- Analyse samples against preset product specifications (colour, viscosity, pH, micro testing, stability etc.)
- Approve or reject raw materials and bulk based on quality standards
- Maintain accurate records for full traceability
- Plan and oversee bulk manufacturing quality controls
- Manage retention samples
- Attend to customer complaints and quality-related queries
- Assist with corrective action reports and root cause investigations
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
- Develop and deliver quality control training to production staff
- Monitor staff adherence to SOPs
- Conduct internal audits and lead external/customer/regulatory audits
- Ensure strict compliance with GMP, GDP and ISO standards
- Analyse KPIs and identify improvement opportunities
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Cosmetic Science or related field
- 5–10 years’ experience as a Quality Controller within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Strong documentation and audit exposure
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Working Hours
Office-based role within a manufacturing environment. Operational hours apply. Weekend and additional hours may be required based on production demands.
