About the Role
Flink Recruitment is seeking an experienced Foreman to join our team in Gauteng, responsible for overseeing TMM maintenance and repair activities in a mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all TMM maintenance and repair activities
- Ensure optimal equipment availability to support production targets
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, mining legislation, and company procedures
- Plan and oversee preventative and breakdown maintenance schedules
- Allocate tasks and manage performance of artisans, technicians, and assistants
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality of workmanship and adherence to OEM standards
- Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Liaise with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime
- Manage spares, tools, and maintenance resources effectively
- Investigate breakdowns, incidents, and equipment failures, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation
- Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with PPE and housekeeping standards
- Support training and development of maintenance team members
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Trade Certificate (Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
- Foreman Certificate of Competency (advantageous or required depending on operation)
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in TMM maintenance within a mining environment
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory or foreman role
- Strong knowledge of mining legislation (MHSA) and safety standards
- Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance systems)
- Medically fit for mining conditions
