About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Packhouse Manager to join our team in Harrismith, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our packhouse, ensuring efficient production and high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage packhouse operations to meet production targets and quality standards
- Implement and maintain global standards and certifications such as GlobalGAP, FSSC (Food Safety System Certification), and Siza
- Supervise and train staff to ensure excellent customer service and product quality
- Maintain accurate records and reports using MS Office software
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure smooth production and delivery
Requirements
- Agriculture Diploma/Degree advantageous
- Previous farm management experience
- Minimum of 4 years Packhouse experience
- Strong understanding and practical experience with global standards and certifications such as GlobalGAP, FSSC (Food Safety System Certification), and Siza
- Computer literacy in MS Office (excel, outlook, word)
- Administrative and management experience
- People management experience
- Valid driver’s license
