About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our luxury private game reserve’s culinary operation in Hoedspruit. As a hands-on, highly organised chef with strong leadership skills, you will be responsible for setting up and establishing a brand-new kitchen to luxury standards, while delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and establish a brand-new kitchen, including layout, equipment, systems, and workflows
- Design and execute high-quality menus aligned with a luxury safari experience
- Oversee all food preparation, presentation, and service standards
- Manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Control food costs, stock ordering, waste management, and budgeting
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Maintain consistency and excellence across all meals and dining experiences
- Work closely with lodge management to deliver exceptional guest satisfaction
Requirements
Proven experience as an Executive Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel, or high-end hospitality environment
Demonstrated experience in setting up and launching a new kitchen operation
Strong leadership, organisational, and mentoring skills
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems
Ability to work in a remote or bush environment
