Overview
An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Senior Field Guide to join a premier luxury safari operation. This role is suited to a highly knowledgeable and guest-focused individual who thrives in a wilderness environment and is committed to delivering world-class interpretive guiding experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver immersive, educational, and engaging game drives and bush walks of the highest standard
- Lead interpretive experiences with a strong focus on ecology, conservation, and guest interaction
- Ensure the safety of guests always during drives and walking activities
- Conduct guided walks in accordance with advanced trail guiding standards
- Maintain a high standard of vehicle care, equipment readiness, and guiding areas
- Mentor and support junior guides, contributing to skills development within the team
- Assist with lodge operations where required, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Uphold exceptional guest service standards, ensuring a memorable and personalized safari experience
- Maintain accurate logs and reports related to guiding activities, sightings, and conservation efforts
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised qualification within the Nature Site Guide qualification framework
- Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) certification
- Lead Trails Guide qualification
- Valid First Aid certification
- Valid drivers license and PrDP
- Strong track record of guiding experience within a luxury safari environment
- In-depth knowledge of local fauna, flora, ecosystems, and conservation practices
