Howick: NPD Project Manager – Howick

Responsibilities Lead NPD and packaging projects from concept to launch, ensuring efficient execution within established timelines and budget constraints Manage the NPD budget, ensuring cost optimisation and maximum return on investment Administer the NPD management system in alignment with FSSC 22000 certification Develop strong relationships with external suppliers and manage supplier assets, quotations, and printing timelines Coordinate with internal teams (Food Technologists, Procurement, Marketing, Food Safety, Production, and R&D) to ensure project success Monitor project progress, communicate updates to stakeholders, and ensure meeting strategic timelines and deadlines Oversee commercial costings, adjusting where necessary in collaboration with the cost accountant Support the marketing team with packaging/product updates, as well as design changes Negotiate with suppliers and third parties to ensure fair value and drive successful project outcomes Receive NPD projects from Marketing EXCO and support from the Marketing Manager, reporting directly to them Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including Sales and Finance, to achieve project goals and stay within budget Requirements Degree or diploma in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field Globally recognised PMP, PMI or Project Management certification (Preferred) 35 years of experience in NPD, packaging, and print production, preferably within the FMCG or confectionery industry Strong understanding of supply chain processes and FMCG trends Proven experience in budgeting and cost management Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel A valid drivers license and willingness to travel within South Africa Due to the high volume of applications received, only suitable candidates who meet the criteria of this vacancy will be contacted.
