Humansdorp: Quality Assurance Officer

About the Role

The Quality Assurance Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining our company’s high standards of quality systems, ensuring compliance with code requirements, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and rectifying gaps in the quality system, conducting regular inspections, and supporting audit preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve Quality Systems
• Identify and rectify gaps in the quality system and issue non-conformances for deviations
• Assist in developing HACCP plans for all product types and drawing up product specifications
• Support audit preparation and participate as part of the Audit Team for food safety-related audits
• Assist the Systems Compliance Manager with pathogen and non-pathogen environmental monitoring programs
• Conduct in-house training and environmental sessions
• Attend monthly quality meetings
• Perform regular housekeeping inspections, issue non-conformances for non-compliance
• Assist with internal audits and mock recalls
• Support implementation and maintenance of the company Environmental System

Requirements

• Minimum Matric Certificate
• Food Science-related degree or diploma (preferred)
• At least two years of experience in the food industry, specifically in quality system implementation and maintenance
