iLembe: Sales Manager – Life Insurance

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team of life insurance advisers within a fast-paced, regulated UK brokerage environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the financial services industry , proven leadership capability, and the ability to drive performance while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer outcomes. What Youll Do: Lead, manage, and develop a team of life insurance advisers to achieve and exceed sales targets. Ensure that all advisers provide high-quality, compliant, needs-based life insurance advice. Monitor performance, delivering coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans where necessary. Drive a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service. Oversee daily operations including pipeline management, target allocation, and sales reporting. Liaise closely with compliance teams to ensure all processes meet FCA regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits of adviser calls, files, and recommendations to ensure suitability and quality. Work collaboratively with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and improve sales efficiency. Implement and refine sales processes, training programmes, and development pathways. Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of new advisers. Maintain a high level of product knowledge across all advised life insurance products (Life, CIC, IP, Whole of Life, Over 50s). Use data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Foster a positive, high-energy team environment that encourages collaboration and excellence. Communicate efficiently with the head of the UK operations manager. Minimum 3 years experience in a Sales Manager (life insurance, financial services, or a regulated sales environment). Background in financial services with solid knowledge of advised life insurance products. Experience working in or alongside a UK-regulated firm (FCA) desired but not essential. Strong understanding of compliance requirements within advised sales environments. Proven track record of achieving sales targets through effective team leadership. Ability to coach and develop both new and experienced advisers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organised, efficient, and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong data interpretation skills and the ability to make decisions based on performance metrics. Confident using CRM systems, reporting tools, and digital communication platforms. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure. High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-focused leadership style.
