About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Buyer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our buying department, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our business through effective product selection, range planning, and order management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with product selection, range planning, and order placement
- Prepare and manage purchase orders and supplier documentation
- Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, and deliveries
- Track orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate product, pricing, and supplier information
- Support stock monitoring and replenishment planning
- Assist with sales, margin, and stock reporting
- Conduct competitor and market research
- Support promotions, launches, and seasonal planning
- Provide general administrative support to the buying team
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in Buying, Product Management, Marketing, or Merchandising
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Own reliable transport
