About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Buyer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of the buying department, you will play a crucial role in driving product selection, range planning, and order placement. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with product selection, range planning, and order placement
- Prepare and manage purchase orders and supplier documentation
- Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, and deliveries
- Track orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate product, pricing, and supplier information
- Support stock monitoring and replenishment planning
- Assist with sales, margin, and stock reporting
- Conduct competitor and market research
- Support promotions, launches, and seasonal planning
- Provide general administrative support to the buying team
Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in Buying, Product Management, Marketing, or Merchandising
Relevant tertiary qualification
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Own reliable transport
