About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking a diligent and experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their growing team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, customer-centric, and able to support maintenance technicians while ensuring compliance with Company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Dedicate to supporting maintenance technicians by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
Project planning and cost analysis.
Monitor the Company’s Quality program in the station and ensure conformity and implementation of standards.
Develop business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans.
Responsible for adherence to Company training programs.
Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel.
Provides oversight and responsible for organization of the yard and facilities at every location within the division.
Fosters collaboration between and among personnel.
Ensure adequate training and development of mechanics, leads, and all other shop personnel.
Discusses maintenance issues, contracts and warranty work with vendors.
Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget.
Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements;
Must be able to travel to locations within the district;
Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information;
CDL Class B with Air Brakes a plus;
Experience leading, mentoring, and training staff a must;
Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division and district objectives;
5+ years management or supervision experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience a plus;
Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair;
Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems;
