About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a diligent and experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their growing team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with maintenance technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Dedicated to supporting maintenance technicians by working in a safe, customer-focused manner;
- Project planning and cost analysis;
- Monitor the Company’s Quality program in the station and ensure conformity and implementation of standards;
- Develop business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans;
- Responsible for adherence to Company training programs;
- Performs additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time;
- Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks;
- Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel;
- Provides oversight and responsible for organization of the yard and facilities at every location within the division;
- Fosters collaboration between and among personnel;
- Ensure adequate training and development of mechanics, leads, and all other shop personnel;
- Discusses maintenance issues, contracts and warranty work with vendors;
- Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget;
- Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements;
- Must be able to travel to locations within the district;
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information;
- CDL Class B with Air Brakes a plus;
- Experience leading, mentoring, and training staff a must;
- Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division and district objectives;
- 5+ years management or supervision experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience a plus;
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair;
- Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems;
