Johannesburg: Chrome Trading Sales Manager – Metals Trading

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our Chrome Trading business in Johannesburg, with a focus on expanding into copper and other mineral markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metals trading, particularly chrome, and excellent commercial execution skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving revenue and market share growth by leading sales strategies and execution for the company’s portfolio of mineral and chemical products.
  • Managing key customer relationships and ensuring commercial execution across chrome, manganese, andalusite, and industrial mineral portfolio.
  • Developing and executing the global sales strategy as well as growing market share across targeted regions.
  • Managing and coordinating performance of international Sales Agents, including targets and reporting.
  • Negotiating pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Building strong customer relationships and ensuring high service levels.
  • Providing reliable sales forecasts, managing budgets, and reporting performance.
  • Collaborating with operations, logistics, and technical teams to meet customer needs.
  • Tracking market trends and competitive activity to support strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, mineral processing or a related field is preferred for this role.
  • Previous experience having worked in a Metals trading business with the focus on manganese and chrome, with plans to expand into copper, is preferred for the role.
  • Previous chrome trading experience with a deep knowledge of the chrome markets as well as supplier relationships in SA is essential for the role.
  • Ability to manage international customers and external Sales Agents both locally and internationally.
