About the Role

The Johannesburg-based Credit Analyst: Workouts & Restructuring role is a critical position within our W&R portfolio, requiring a skilled professional to carry out quality credit assessments, present sustainable solutions, and manage credit risk on behalf of the Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out full credit assessments within allocated portfolio
  • Check the credit submission for completeness, including accompanying documents in terms of the approved loan guidelines
  • Ensure that all relevant information and documentation has been received from the operations as per the agreed checklist
  • Follow up with the branches to ensure that all supporting documentation is complete
  • Align products to the purpose of the loan and the Credit Policy to suit customers’ needs
  • Co-ordinate CAC and CCC setting up of agenda(s) for application(s) to be heard
  • Report stats of application(s) processed for allocated region(s)
  • Check the spreading of financial statements to identify the viability and performance of the business and assess business and financial risk by analysing financial statements of applicants
  • Build relationships with all relevant stakeholders to ensure understanding of requirements and addressing any credit-related issues
  • Respond to queries received from the Branch operations and the relevant Credit Committee
  • Promote a culture of credit risk management at branch level, providing guidance and training to operations on credit-related matters

Requirements

  • 3-year Tertiary Qualification (Commerce) with majors in Accounting or a 3-year Credit Management Diploma
  • Relevant credit assessment experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the NCA, CPA, FICA, and related credit regulatory requirements
  • Primary and secondary agriculture sector finance
  • Appraisal of credit proposals and deal structure for assets finance, working capital, backward and forward integration finance
