JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATION: Job Title: Delivery Improvement Analyst Employment Type: Permanent, On-site Location: Sandton, Johannesburg JOB CONTEXT: Assist the Delivery Improvement Lead to execute the firm`s legal services delivery improvement strategy the aim of which is to provide an excellent client experience and the protection and improvement of client and matter profitability. Responsible for translating the business needs into detailed business and functional requirements that can be implemented within the firm. This could sometimes entail conducting specific analyses to enable the design of optimized legal and business processes. May include assessing business models, projects, legal matter data and the integration of technology and processes. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES : Continuously and actively seek and implement opportunities internally to improve legal services delivery. Analyse trends in matter delivery and identify potential pain points. Assist in designing and implementing legal matter delivery and business solutions for improved client experience and enhanced profitability in collaboration with the practice teams, the Legal Technology & Solutions (LTS) and IT departments (as appropriate). Responsible for analysing business needs (including processes in respect of specific teams / legal matter types) and defining what the requirements from a business perspective might be. Work closely with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement required improvements and solutions. Ensure that when the solution is agreed and/or made available, that all requirements are met. Design and review test cases as part of any technical recommendations. May be required to assist with testing and piloting new solutions. Identify issues during these phases for tracking and reporting purposes. Assist in management of project deadlines and schedules. Communicate and apply business analysis standards. Responsible for developing business process and legal matter maps, standard operating procedures, training material and any other documentation that may be required to support implementation of the solution. Assist with analysing, documenting, implementing and maintaining the firm`s legal services delivery policies, processes, procedures and systems and ensuring continuous improvement. Assist with training on legal services delivery best practices, processes and policies. Assist with developing case studies of excellent delivery execution to illustrate and promote improved legal services delivery. Build good relationships with legal practitioners and assist legal practitioners with the implementation of alternative resourcing, legal project management and legal technology (LTS) services in their practices. Build and maintain excellent relationships with the Legal Services Centre. Work collaboratively with the Legal Services Centre in identifying and designing solutions for clients (particularly in respect of large matters) and contribute to the creation of client pitches. Build and maintain excellent relationships with the Legal Technology team. Advise and support the Legal Technology team on the best way to embed such technology in legal matter workflows to achieve adoption and realize envisaged benefits. Build and maintain excellent relationships with the IT team. Act as subject matter expert to the IT team in the identification and evaluation of technology for use by practice teams, and on initiatives for improved legal services delivery. Build and maintain excellent relationships with the Innovation Management team. Act as subject matter expert to the Innovation Management team in assessing new ideas and assisting in implementing new ideas, once approved and if relevant to delivery improvement. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Academic Qualification: Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7 in Business Process Management and/ or IT and Computer Sciences Essential. 2. Years of experience: Up to 5 years. Skilled, technical and academic qualified employees. 3. Area of Experience: Project Management. Experience in law firm. Legal Technology Application.
