About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Export Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for driving international revenue growth and ensuring the successful execution of our global expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing distributors, agents, or international sales channels, with a strong understanding of Incoterms, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and export documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive international revenue growth by managing export sales channels
  • Identify new international markets and develop distributor networks
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance alignment
  • Coordinate all export-related operations
  • Maintain strong relationships with international partners, customers, and stakeholders
  • Identify and evaluate potential markets for business expansion
  • Attend international trade shows, exhibitions, and industry conferences
  • Appoint and manage international distributors, agents, and partners
  • Conduct distributor performance reviews and implement KPIs
  • Set annual sales targets and drive promotional activities in export territories
  • Develop annual export sales budgets and forecasts
  • Support tender submissions and large international project bids
  • Liaise with logistics teams to ensure efficient shipping and customs clearance
  • Manage letters of credit, export invoicing, and commercial documentation

Requirements

A tertiary qualification in business, international trade, commerce, or marketing, or a related field is essential for this role. Previous export sales experience is preferred, as the company is happy to train the person into an export role. Must have a proven track record managing distributors, agents, or international sales channels.
