Job Title: Head of Treasury & Bookkeeping – Reporting to Group Head of Finance

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Treasury & Bookkeeping. We are an insurance company that operates in both the non-life and life insurance space. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to treasury management, cash flow analysis, financial reporting, and bookkeeping. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team. The Head of Treasury & Bookkeeping will play a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for treasury management, ensuring the timely and accurate management of cash flows, liquidity, and financial risks.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, by relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the bookkeeping function, overseeing day-to-day activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to treasury management and bookkeeping.
  • Analyse financial data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding cash management, investment opportunities, and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to develop and optimize financial processes and systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of treasury and bookkeeping professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in treasury management and bookkeeping, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Support the Group Head of Finance and other senior management in strategic financial decision-making, providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in treasury management, cash flow analysis, financial reporting, and bookkeeping, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and convincingly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with foreign payments will be advantageous
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams/external partners.
  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong ethical standards/commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
