Johannesburg: IFRS 17 Technical Specialist (Finance)

Lead the technical accounting agenda, interpreting and embedding IFRS standards across the business Ensure accounting policies and reporting frameworks remain compliant and fit for purpose Oversee high‑quality statutory reporting, including complex GAAP conversions Translate technical accounting requirements into practical guidance for business units Act as a trusted finance partner to senior leadership, providing insight to support strategic outcomes Develop and mentor finance team members, fostering technical excellence Champion process improvement and finance transformation initiatives Skills & Experience: Minimum 7 years experience in financial services; insurance exposure advantageous Strong technical accounting and advisory background Practical experience with IFRS 17 and insurance‑specific accounting standards Big 4 audit/advisory experience with people leadership exposure Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Deep knowledge of IFRS and GAAP Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability Able to manage competing priorities in a high‑pressure environment Demonstrated leadership and team development skills Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation non-negotiable.
