Johannesburg: Information Engineer – Johannesburg – up to R500 per hour posted by E-Merge

A bank operating independently is seeking a highly skilled Information Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing and delivering Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Business Intelligence, and Analytics solutions, with expertise in Microsoft and Azure technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects while contributing to scalable, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
• Develop and maintain robust ETL processes using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Build reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and SSRS to deliver actionable insights.
• Design and manage multidimensional and tabular models using SSAS.
• Write and optimize complex queries using T-SQL and MS SQL.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git for source control and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and governance.
• Leverage Azure Synapse Analytics for large-scale data integration and reporting.
• Work with metadata management and MDM solutions; knowledge of Profisee and Purview is advantageous.

Minimum Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience designing and building Warehouse/Data Lake/BI/Analytics solutions.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
  • MS SQL and T-SQL
  • SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
  • Power BI
• Strong experience with Git and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline deployment.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Knowledge of Profisee (MDM) and Purview (data governance) is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills: Data Lake Architecture, Business Intelligence & Analytics Azure DevOps / CI/CD
